PASQAL designs and develops Quantum Processing Units and dedicated software tools. These innovative processors address applications which are out of the reach of the most powerful existing supercomputers, encompassing real-world challenges as well as fundamental science. Quantum Hardware Engineer (Engineering)
Within the Engineering & Production department, you will be in charge of designing and building industrial neutral-atom-based Quantum Processing Units (QPUs). As a Quantum Hardware Engineer, you will be leading a team integrating QPUs compatible with autonomous operation at our client’s remote facilities. You will contribute to improving sub-systems (electronics, opto-mechanics…) to optimize their integration and performance. Your tasks will range from improving engineering designs and procedures, to assembling and fully characterizing the units before delivery. After commissioning the units, you will ensure that they keep on operating at their best level of performances and you will manage maintenance operations.
You will also be involved in the design and the implementation of new technological developments emerging from the R&D department, which you will be responsible for testing on the industrial QPUs. For this purpose, you will need to collaborate with the other hardware and software teams of PASQAL.

Qualification & experience
You hold a MSc or a PhD in Quantum Physics.
A previous experimental research experience is strongly recommended, with a preference in the field of Optics, Atomic and Molecular Physics.
The successful candidate will have a strong taste for Quantum Information and Atomic Physics, as well as a keen interest in industrializing deep techs. We are looking for someone who is really excited about our technologies and the scientific challenge that we are facing.
Your main scientific and technical skills are in optics, electronics, hardware / software interfacing and data analysis.
In this position you will build upon your interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
English fluency is required for this position.
