PASQAL designs and develops Quantum Processing Units and dedicated software tools. By allowing the efficient classical simulation of physics at the atomic level, GPU-based algorithms play an important role to explore the performances of Quantum Algorithms designed to ultimately run on Pasqal neutral-atom-based Quantum Processing Units (QPUs).
Within the Quantum Software and Applications department, you will be in charge of developing and extending our computational infrastructure according to these needs. As a GPU Engineer, you will be in charge of a computational cluster and you will use it to run intensive numerical jobs in order to assess the feasibility of analog/digital quantum circuits to be run on QPUs.
You will be given the autonomy and resources to design and build a top-class infrastructure. Associated responsibilities will include among others:
- conducting research and surveys on emerging technologies, HPC workloads and algorithms, and requirements induced on computer architecture;
- analyzing and reporting on workload performance on new computing architectures;
- optimizing the architecture to maximize performance of a variety of quantum algorithms.
Within PASQAL, your assignments will range from developing and maintaining PASQAL’s GPU cluster, to running state of the art algorithms for quantum dynamics and parameter optimization while ensuring the highest overall performance. You will also be involved in the design and the implementation of new algorithms, and in the simulation of various layers of our stack. For this purpose, you will collaborate with the other hardware and software teams of PASQAL, composed of scientists and engineers from a wide range of specialties.

Qualification & Experience
You hold a MSc or higher level in Computer Science/Physics/Mathematics or related fields.
You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in GPU programming, parallel processing and High Performance Computing (HPC).
You have in-depth knowledge of C++/Python, CUDA, OpenCL or similar packages.
Previous hands-on experience with building GPU and cluster infrastructure is mandatory.
Notions of quantum computing, atomic physics and optics, as well as a previous experience in digital simulation of quantum system, are assets that will be highly valued.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest for Quantum Information, Computing and Simulation, as well as a vision for industrializing deep techs.
